Hey and welcome to 94:18's Spark of Hope Blog. So yesterday I was sketching and listening to the radio and I heard a interesting perspective on a popular Bible story. You know the story where Peter gets out of the boat and walks (or at least tried to) to Jesus? Well, as Peter is looking at Jesus he was able to walk on top of the water in the middle of a storm.
Well, when Peter falls into the water and starts drowning he looks at Jesus and Jesus instantly rushes over and pulls Peter out of the water. Notice though what he didn't do. Peter didn't look to the people in the boat and say "save me". He didn't turn to anyone else but Jesus. Peter turned and with his full heart yearning he cried out "Jesus Save Me".
Now what do you do in your storms in life? Do you turn to people? Money? Popularity? What do you turn to? No one but you can answer this question for yourself. But it is my hope that your answer is "Jesus" (Huh for once I will take a Sunday School answer =). But I get it, Im human too!
It can be hard to trust Jesus through EVERYTHING. As humans we like to have physical things that we can hold onto, making it hard to hold onto Jesus during storms.
Now the challenge question for you is: Who/what are you trusting in? if not Jesus, what steps can I take to trust Jesus better?
