Hello and welcome to today's 94:18 Christian Studios Spark of Hope (Devo)!
From now on occasionally I will switch between blogs and short devotions/notes on certain passages.
Today's note is on Ephesians 2:3. After the devotion, take time to pray and meditate on the verse and ask God what personal takeaway you can receive from this passage.
Ephesians 2:3 NIV
3 All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh[a] and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath.
When we follow our flesh, we are disobeying God. The flesh and heart are an evil thing that Satan uses to turn ourselves against ourselves; going by society's standards and norms it's common to hear "follow your heart" and "you know what's best for you" but Satan is the master of half truths. All he does is lie but disguise it as the truth, and he uses the quickly downward spiraling world to bid his doing.
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
He said, “Go and tell this people: “ ‘Be ever hearing, but never understanding; be ever seeing, but never perceiving.’
Isaiah 6:8-9 NIV
